Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is seeking candidates for the Board of Directors. Currently DCP has board vacancies in both Washington and Hancock counties. Elected representatives to the Board of Directors are elected to represent low income citizens and must either participate in a program offered by DCP or have a particular interest or expertise in assisting or advocating for low income individuals and families. They must reside in one of the two counties, and be at least eighteen years of age.
DCP is a private, not‑for‑profit, volunteer governed, community action agency registered in the State of Maine to provide a variety of support services and anti‑poverty programs to low income, elderly and disabled citizens. DCP currently provides a variety of services including transportation, Head Start and early childcare, heating assistance, weatherization, home repair, and elder services. Offices are located in Ellsworth and Machias.
The election is scheduled for October 16, 2018. Interested candidates are required to complete a nomination form with signatures from 20 low income individuals who are at least 18 years of age before September 24, 2018.
