Downeast Community Partners announces the hiring of Rota Knott as the agency’s new Executive Director.

“DCP is fortunate to have found just the right person to assume the position of Executive Director.  Rota brings both deep expertise and experience in not-for-profit leadership and human services administration. We know that Rota’s extraordinary proficiencies, coupled with her passion to improve the quality of life and reduce the impact of poverty in Down East communities, will lead our agency to the next level,” retiring Executive Director Rebecca Palmer commented.

Ms. Knott’s 15-year experience in nonprofit leadership includes executive director positions in both Maryland and Maine – most recently as the Executive Director of the Acadia Family Center in Southwest Harbor. Knott holds B.A. in Communication Arts from Salisbury State University, and an M.S. in Administration of Human Services from Wilmington University.

“DCP’s board welcomes Rota Knott. We are confident Rota will lead our Community Action
Agency with heart and expertise," said DCP’s Board President, Charles Rudelitch. "We look forward to working together to strengthen DCP and better serve our clients and the communities of Hancock and Washington counties.  On behalf of the board, I also want to express our gratitude to Rebecca for her tireless work in leading this critical organization through the pandemic.”

“I am pleased to be joining DCP, whose mission and values align with my own,” Knott stated. “My career is marked by my strategic and collaborative approaches to identifying priority needs, leveraging resources to create meaningful impact, and building the capacity necessary to facilitate significant and lasting change. I am eager to bring my skills and experience to Downeast Community Partners to help reduce the causes and conditions of poverty in Hancock and Washington counties.”

Ms. Knott's start date in the position of Executive Director at DCP is August 19, 2024.
