CACFP OUTREACH WORKER

Summary Description
The Child and Adult Care Program Outreach Worker reports to the Nutrition Manager for the recruitment of and support to child care providers participating in DCP’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  Travel throughout service area necessary; primary service area is Washington County and some Hancock County.  20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Early Childhood Programs Operations Manager

This position is responsible for the coordination of systems necessary to support major components of a quality early childhood program. This position works with the Director of Early Childhood Programs (DECP) to plan, implement, and evaluate quality programming for children ages birth to five and their families. Works closely with Content Area Managers to monitor and carry out program plans.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Social Services or Administration. 
  • Three to five years of management and supervision in a non-profit or social service field. 
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines required. 
  • Must be computer literate and have ability to learn and use a variety of programs.
  • Knowledge of Head Start and early care and education preferred.

Infant/Toddler Caregiver for the Ellsworth Early Care & Education Program, located at 18 Avery Lane.

This is a full-time year round position.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with parents and their young children that will enhance the bond between parent and child.
  • Also responsible to plan and implement, in partnership with families, a responsive curriculum and classroom environment that promotes optimal growth and development of infants and toddlers in a full-day, full-year program.
  • Must have at least 12 months experience working with infants/toddlers in a childcare facility.

Janitorial position for the Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center located at 18 Avery Lane, Ellsworth. This is a year round position, 15 hours per week. Janitorial duties include cleaning the entire childcare center area of the building including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, ramps, and entryways. Cleaning materials provided. Hours of cleaning are in the evening after childcare has closed for the day.

Location: Hancock and Washington counties

We are seeking part-time drivers in the following areas Machias, Milbridge, Calais, Eastport, and Ellsworth. We provide transportation for low-income people, the elderly, as well as the general public. Start working and get a signing bonus of $250, to be paid 45 days after hire.

Our vehicles are easy to operate and require no special license, just a good driving record and a desire to provide safe and pleasant transportation to the people we serve.

Flexible schedules are available.

Candidates must have a clean driving record, pass a criminal and child protective background check, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

Family Futures Downeast

Evening Childcare Program
Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is pleased to be a partner in an innovative, two-generation educational program for parents and children in Washington County. Family Futures Downeast offers parents the opportunity to complete a one-year program in Family Studies at either the University of Maine Machias or Washington County Community College. DCP will provide a nutritious family meal and high quality early education services and supports for the children (age 0-8) of parents who attend the program two evenings each week.

The early education program will support healthy child development through developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities provided by a staff of trained caregivers, teachers and food service technicians. Services will be geared to the needs of infants, toddlers, preschool and early primary school-age children.
