Location: St Croix Early Care and Education Center, Calais

This position has a $500 sign on bonus!

The St Croix Early Care and Education Center, located on the campus of WCCC, is seeking an assistant preschool teacher. Assists the teacher implementing daily curriculum for children three to five years old, and provides social services to participating families. The position is 40 hours per week, full year.  

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree in early childhood education preferred.
  • Minimum of a CDA
  • 1 year of experience in a preschool classroom setting required.

The Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center, located on Avery Lane, is seeking an assistant preschool teacher. This is a  32 hour per week, 33 week per year position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the preschool teacher to plan and implement an early childhood education program for children in accordance with agency practices, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for promoting school readiness, parent engagement and ensuring the health and safety of children in our care.
  • Performs under the direction of the preschool teacher to ensure program operations are carried out in a manner supportive of the agency goals and intended program outcomes. 

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a preschool classroom setting required.

The Flaherty Early Care and Education Center, located on the campus of UMM, is seeking an assistant preschool teacher.  The position is 40 hours per week, full year.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the preschool teacher to plan and implement an early childhood education program for children in accordance with agency practices, policies and procedures.
  • Promoting school readiness, parent engagement and ensuring the health and safety of children in our care.
  • Performs under the direction of the Lead Teacher to ensure program operations are carried out in a manner supportive of the DCP goals and intended program outcomes.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in early childhood education preferred.
  • Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA or are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.

Downeast Community Partners has a part-time opening for a certified CRMA to work at our Friendship Cottage location. Located in Blue Hill, the goal of Friendship Cottage is to help seniors remain physically active and socially engaged through access to our adult day program.

Downeast Community Partners will pay for certification to become a CRMA.

Responsibilities:

·       Personal care plans that address each individual’s needs.

·       Provides participation in the provision of a safe and secure environment.

Required qualifications:

·       Prior work history as a CNA in a residential medical facility.

The Child and Adult Care Program Outreach Worker reports to the Nutrition Manager for the recruitment of and support to child care providers participating in DCP’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  Travel throughout service area necessary; primary service area is Washington County and some Hancock County.  20 hours per week.

Friendship Cottage is an Adult Day Service. located in Blue Hill, and our goal is to help seniors remain physically active and socially engaged through access to an adult day service program. The facility provides a variety of health, social, and supportive services in a safe, protective environment. The Cottage is a licensed facility designed to serve seniors and other adults who may be physically, mentally, or functionally impaired, or who need companionship or supervision. The program is designed using a medical model, offering personal care plans that address each individual’s needs, therapeutic activities, meals, social services, and education.

       Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating, purchasing, and cooking meals and snacks
  • Maintains kitchen supplies and equipment according to sanitation standards
  • Maintains a clean, safe, healthy work environment

       Education/Training/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in cooking for groups
  • Record keeping and documentation required
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and sanitation principles

1 YEAR POSITION ONLY

 The Housing Stability staff provides direct support, outreach, information, and education to individuals/families. Collaborates with other programs within DCP as well as other community partners.  Ensures that all areas of the program’s service area is covered equitably. Ensures adherence to all aspects and conditions of the grants/funding sources.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with participants and landlords as needed.
  • Works with individuals and families in assessing needs, defining goals, and developing a plan.
  • Provides support and resources to participants who have applied to ERA.
  • Cultivates a working knowledge of and makes connections to relevant area resources.
  • Collects and inputs data to support and ensure that grant deliverables and expectations are met.
  • Participates in staff team meetings as well as individual supervision,
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary to fulfill the position.

Infant/Toddler Caregiver for the Ellsworth Early Care & Education Program, located at 18 Avery Lane.

This is a full-time year round position.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with parents and their young children that will enhance the bond between parent and child.
  • Also responsible to plan and implement, in partnership with families, a responsive curriculum and classroom environment that promotes optimal growth and development of infants and toddlers in a full-day, full-year program.
  • Must have at least 12 months experience working with infants/toddlers in a childcare facility.

Janitorial position for the Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center located at 18 Avery Lane, Ellsworth. This is a year round position, 15 hours per week. Janitorial duties include cleaning the entire childcare center area of the building including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, ramps, and entryways. Cleaning materials provided. Hours of cleaning are in the evening after childcare has closed for the day.

This position offers a sign on bonus of $250 after 90 days of work.

We are seeking part-time drivers in the following areas Machias, Milbridge, Calais, Eastport, and Ellsworth. We provide transportation for low-income people, the elderly, as well as the general public. 

Our vehicles are easy to operate and require no special license, just a good driving record and a desire to provide safe and pleasant transportation to the people we serve.

Flexible schedules are available.

Candidates must have a clean driving record, pass a criminal and child protective background check, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week and 51 weeks/year.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs direct service installs
  • Installation of home weatherization materials
  • Minor carpentry repairs
