This is a contracted professional position providing social emotional mental health consultation in Early Head Start and Head Start sites.

The primary population is young children ages six weeks to age five, their teachers and caregivers.

The person in this position functions with a great deal of professional independence under the general guidance and supervision of the EHS/HS Director with additional support from the Education and Disability Managers.

Must demonstrate a collaborative approach to all services involving staff, parents, and other providers as a team.

Responsibilities include: Providing programmatic consultation to staff regarding social emotional development, individual consultation with a child centered approach for those children exhibiting behavioral challenges or social emotional delays, in-service MH professional development, and hands on support and strategies to teachers in the classroom
 

EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology; Master’s Degree (MA/MSW) in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field of study preferred.
  • State of Maine licensure as an LLMSW, LMSW or LLP preferred
    Minimum of 2 years of post-degree experience working with infants and young children and families.
  • Experience in early care and education settings preferred.

Janitorial position for the Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center located at 18 Avery Lane, Ellsworth. This is a year round position, 15 hours per week. Janitorial duties include cleaning the entire childcare center area of the building including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, ramps, and entryways. Cleaning materials provided. Hours of cleaning are in the evening after childcare has closed for the day.

Location: Hancock and Washington counties

We are seeking part-time drivers in the following areas Machias, Milbridge, Calais, Eastport, and Ellsworth. We provide transportation for low-income people, the elderly, as well as the general public. Start working and get a signing bonus of $250, to be paid 45 days after hire.

Our vehicles are easy to operate and require no special license, just a good driving record and a desire to provide safe and pleasant transportation to the people we serve.

Flexible schedules are available.

Candidates must have a clean driving record, pass a criminal and child protective background check, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

Infant/Toddler Caregiver for the Ellsworth Early Care & Education Program, located at 18 Avery Lane.

This is a full-time year round position.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with parents and their young children that will enhance the bond between parent and child.

Preschool Teacher

The Ellsworth ECEC center has an excellent career opportunity for those desiring to promote the growth and development of young children in a center based program.

Successful candidate will be responsible for design and implementation of a program in a center-based classroom for 3-5 year-old children in conjunction with other center staff.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week and 51 weeks/year.

Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is hiring a per diem RN for our Nurse Home Visiting Program in Washington County.

Responsibilities include: Direct work with mothers experiencing a high-risk, medically complicated pregnancy and infants born with medical complications, along with well-child assessment and outreach throughout our coverage area.  Successful applicant will plan, develop, and coordinate client care.  We work with hospitals, medical providers, and social service agencies to ensure necessary services are delivered.  RN will offer support and encouragement, identify potential issues, educate families on safety and risks, and contact appropriate resources and agencies in order to respond to family and client needs. 

Varied work hours are occasionally necessary, including weekends and evenings when a client crisis requires intervention. Travel outside Washington County is sometimes necessary. 

Required skills include:

  • Prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric experience.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and have excellent time  management skills. 
  • A strong desire to help families, meet them where they are at, and assist in barrier removal.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

 Education required:

Signing Bonus of $250, to be paid 30 days after hire

Downeast Community Partners is looking for a certified CRMA/CNA to work at our Friendship Cottage location in Blue Hill on a part-time basis of 25 hours per week.  The goal of Friendship Cottage is to help seniors remain physically active and socially engaged through access to our adult day program.

Responsibilities:

·       Personal care plans that address each individual’s needs.

·       Provides participation in the provision of a safe and secure environment.

CACFP OUTREACH WORKER

Summary Description
The Child and Adult Care Program Outreach Worker is responsible to the Nutrition Manager for the recruitment of and support to child care providers participating in DCP’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  Travel throughout service area necessary; primary service area is Washington County and some Hancock County.  20 hours per week.

Family Futures Downeast

Evening Childcare Program
Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is pleased to be a partner in an innovative, two-generation educational program for parents and children in Washington County. Family Futures Downeast offers parents the opportunity to complete a one-year program in Family Studies at either the University of Maine Machias or Washington County Community College. DCP will provide a nutritious family meal and high quality early education services and supports for the children (age 0-8) of parents who attend the program two evenings each week.

The early education program will support healthy child development through developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities provided by a staff of trained caregivers, teachers and food service technicians. Services will be geared to the needs of infants, toddlers, preschool and early primary school-age children.

Staff Accountant

Responsible for performing accounting work as assigned, including such responsibilities as preparing financial reports, assisting in monthly preparation of financial statements, performing subsidiary accounting, monthly budget report  analysis, audit preparation assistance, agency insurance renewals, processing accounts payable checks and electronic fund transfers, entering of revenue payments into software, and reporting daily cash received. Will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provide supervisory and other support to other finance staff. Should be able to work independently and to adjust priorities, as needed, to assist in the duties of the finance team.

Education, Experience/Knowledge

Two-year degree in accounting required, Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Consideration given to various combinations of education and experience.
At least two years experience in accounting preferred.
Strong financial and analytical skills.
Computer proficiency, including familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with management staff.
