Location: St Croix Early Care and Education Center, Calais

The St Croix Early Care and Education Center is seeking an assistant preschool teacher.  The position is 40 hours per week, full year.  Responsible to assist the preschool teacher to plan and implement an early childhood education program for children in accordance with agency practices, policies, and procedures. Responsible for promoting school readiness, parent engagement, and ensuring the health and safety of children. Performs under the direction of the Lead Teacher to ensure program operations are carried out in a manner supportive of the DCP goals and intended program outcomes.

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred. Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA, or are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.

Location: Hancock County

Downeast Community Partners is seeking a Center Coordinator/Family Advocate who will oversee several Head Start/Pre K collaborations in Hancock County.  This is a full-time, school-year position.  We are looking for an experienced early childhood professional with strong communication skills and supervisory experience to provide leadership, support, and guidance to a team of preschool teachers and infant/toddler caregivers.

Establishes and maintains professional relationships with families and other providers that interface with the program. Ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.

Three years experience in management, direct supervision, and monitoring required. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Development, Social Services, Early Childhood Development, or related field preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and effective communication skills required. Familiarity with local early intervention and community resources preferred.

Location: Ellsworth

Downeast Community Partners is seeking a full-time Development Associate to partner with others in our Communications and Resource Development office.

The office is responsible for outreach to our clients, State and Federal granting agencies and community supporters. The Associate will take major responsibility for researching grant opportunities, preparing grant applications and creating outreach publications. The incumbent will take primary responsibility for managing our agency webpage and all social media communication on behalf of DCP.

 On-going responsibilities include:

 ·       Develop resources and publications that enhance and publicize DCP current programs directed at  educating the public, community partners, and current and potential funders;

·       Research, write, and edit grant applications;

·       Manage the DCP web page, Facebook, and all electronic communications on behalf of DCP;

·       Develop and help disseminate information internally so our employees and Board of Directors have current understanding of our programs and initiatives;

·       Prepare, proofread, and edit agency publications, annual report, newsletters, and fact sheets;

·       Primary responsibility for providing administrative support of department initiatives which might include; grant submittals and responses, DCP publications and press releases, donor lists and acknowledgement, and all agency publications.

Required experience and education- BA/BS in relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Significant experience writing and producing materials for targeted audiences utilizing print and on-line resources.

Infant/Toddler Caregiver for the Ellsworth Early Care & Education Program, located at 18 Avery Lane Ellsworth.

This is a full-time year round position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with parents and their young children that will enhance the bond between parent and child. Also responsible to plan and implement, in partnership with families, a responsive curriculum and classroom environment that promotes optimal growth and development of infants and toddlers in a full-day, full-year program. 

Education and Experience:  At a minimum, an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) or comparable credential.  Must have experience working with infants/toddlers in a classroom environment and strong organization and communication skills.

Location: Hancock and Washington counties

We are seeking part-time drivers for Hancock and Washington counties. We provide transportation to low-income, elderly, as well as the general public. Our vehicles are easy to operate and require no special license, just a good driving record and a desire to provide safe and pleasant transportation to the people we serve. Flexible schedules available.

Candidate must have clean driving record, pass criminal and child protective background checks, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

Location: Blue Hill

Friendship Cottage is an Adult Day Program in Blue Hill, Maine. DCP is seeking to enlarge their Per Diem pool for CNA/CRMA.

The CNA/CRMA is responsible for the direct care of consumers receiving services. The position will be responsible for participating in the provision of a safe and secure environment and personal care assistance.

Qualifications: Applicants for CNA/CRMA must be currently licensed. Prior nursing/assisted living facility experience preferred. Must be able to work Saturdays on occasion, willing to transport consumers, have clean driving record, reliable transportation, and pass criminal background check.

Location: Sullivan

We have an immediate need for a Program Aide at our Mt. View Early Care and Education Center located at the Mt. View Elementary School in Sullivan.  Responsibilities include working with children in a classroom setting and providing additional support to the teaching staff for 4 hours each contact day.  Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  Prior experience working with preschool aged children preferred.  Must be dependable and able to cover Monday through Thursday each week.
