Downeast Community Partners is a mission driven organization, headquartered in Ellsworth, that serves Hancock and Washington counties. We are a community action program with a mission to improve the quality of life and reduce the impact of poverty in Downeast communities. Our services span birth to elder care and are exemplified by our programs which provide assistance with transportation, energy assistance, home repair, financial coaching, elder care services, prenatal services, and early childhood education. DCP is known for creating effective partnerships with local agencies and municipal governments as we work together to address the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities.

The ideal candidate will have proven skills in customer service and communications, data entry and analysis, and display teamwork skills in a fast paced environment.

 

Responsibilities

·       Logs and catalogues calls from customers for rides using prescribed format

·       Learns and employs procedures defined by Transportation system of operation

·       Creates and maintains client files for ready distribution, along with forms and reports

·       Responds to outside and inside personnel requesting data

·       Crosstrain with administrative assistant in Transportation Division

·       Acts as key contributor, team player, and troubleshooter for data needs throughout the division.

Qualifications- Required

·       HS diploma or equivalent

·       Demonstrated office experience in a fast paced and changing office environment

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to learn office software

·       Clean driving record

Location: Calais and Machias

Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is pleased to be a partner in an innovative, two-generation educational program for parents and children in Washington County.  Family Futures Downeast offers parents the opportunity to complete a one-year program in Family Studies at either the University of Maine Machias or Washington County Community College. DCP provides a nutritious family meal and high quality early education services and supports for the children (age 0-8) of parents who attend the program two evenings each week.

The early education program supports healthy child development through developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities provided by a staff of trained caregivers, teachers, and food service technicians.  Services are geared to the needs of infants, toddlers, preschool, and early primary school-age children.

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING:

Food Service Technician, Calais – 8 hours per week; Tuesday and Thursday 3:00-7:00 PM

Food Service Technician, Machias – 8 hours per week; Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-7:30 PM

Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is hiring for our Maternal-Child Nurse Home Visiting Program.  Positions may be part-time or full-time and are available in both Hancock and Washington counties.

Offers women the comprehensive, one-on-one care of a visiting registered nurse during pregnancy and throughout the baby’s first years of life.

Provides invaluable health assessment, education, medical care, emotional support, and information.

Helps create a positive pre- and postnatal experience for moms and a healthy start for babies.

 

Desired skills include:

A strong desire to help families, meet them where they are at, and assist in barrier removal.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

Prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric experience.

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and have excellent time management skills.

Downeast Community Partners is hiring a Receptionist to work in our Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), beginning in September through February, 2020.

The program provides fuel assistance for eligible households in Hancock and Washington Counties through an application process overseen by Maine Housing.

The successful candidate will provide friendly, prompt service to clients and customers by telephone. Able to operate multi-line telephone system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;

Greets clients, customers, visitors; answers incoming telephone calls and routes to appropriate personnel.

Receives, sorts, stamps and routes incoming mail

Answer client inquiries – in person/via telephone

Schedules appointments

Answers client inquiries about the Liheap application process

Completes HEAP applications with clients and submits to Maine Housing for processing

Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and organizational skills

Knowledge of general office procedures

Proven work experience interacting with the public on the telephone and in person

Infant/Toddler Caregiver for the Ellsworth Early Care & Education Program, located at 18 Avery Lane Ellsworth.

This is a full-time year round position. Our Caregivers are responsible to plan and implement, in partnership with families, a responsive curriculum and classroom environment that promotes optimal growth and development of infants and toddlers in a full-day, full-year program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with parents and their young children that will enhance the bond between parent and child.

Education and Experience:  Must have experience working with infants/toddlers in a classroom environment and strong organization and communication skills.

Location: Hancock and Washington counties

We are seeking part-time drivers for Hancock and Washington counties. We provide transportation to low-income, elderly, as well as the general public. Our vehicles are easy to operate and require no special license, just a good driving record and a desire to provide safe and pleasant transportation to the people we serve. Flexible schedules available.

Candidate must have clean driving record, pass criminal and child protective background checks, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

Location: Blue Hill

Friendship Cottage is an Adult Day Program in Blue Hill, Maine. DCP is seeking to enlarge their Per Diem pool for CNA/CRMA.

The CNA/CRMA is responsible for the direct care of consumers receiving services. The position will be responsible for participating in the provision of a safe and secure environment and personal care assistance.

Qualifications: Applicants for CNA/CRMA must be currently licensed. Prior nursing/assisted living facility experience preferred. Must be able to work Saturdays on occasion, willing to transport consumers, have clean driving record, reliable transportation, and pass criminal background check.

Location: Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center

The Ellsworth ECE center has an excellent career opportunity for those desiring to promote the growth and development of young children in a center based program. Successful candidate will be responsible for design and implementation of a program in a center-based classroom for 3-5 year-old children in conjunction with other center staff. This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week and year round. Must have experience working with young children in a classroom environment. Degree and certification opportunities once hired.

The following location, Ellsworth Elementary Middle School has an excellent career opportunity for those desiring to promote the growth and development of young children in a center based program. Successful candidate will be responsible for design and implementation of a program in a center-based classroom for 3-5 year-old children in conjunction with other center staff. This is a full-time position - 35 hours/week and 33 weeks/year. Position available for candidates with Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or 081 Certification, and experience working with young children.
