The Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center is seeking an assistant teacher.  The position will be located at 18 Avery Lane.  The position is 40 hours per week for 51 weeks.  Responsible to assist the Preschool Teacher to plan and implement an early childhood education program for children in accordance with agency practices, policies, and procedures. Responsible for promoting school readiness, parent engagement, and ensuring the health and safety of children.

An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred. Completion of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within two years of hire is required without an Associate's degree. DCP offers competitive pay plus a generous benefit package.

Location: St Croix Early Care and Education Center, Calais

The St Croix Early Care and Education Center is seeking an assistant preschool teacher.  The position is 40 hours per week, full year.  Responsible to assist the preschool teacher to plan and implement an early childhood education program for children in accordance with agency practices, policies, and procedures. Responsible for promoting school readiness, parent engagement, and ensuring the health and safety of children. Performs under the direction of the Lead Teacher to ensure program operations are carried out in a manner supportive of the DCP goals and intended program outcomes.

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred. Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA, or are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.

Location: Ellsworth

Downeast Community Partners is seeking a Center Coordinator/Family Advocate who will oversee services in the Ellsworth Early Care and Education Center and the EEMS and the Head Start/Pre-K collaboration. This is a full-time, year round position. We are looking for an experienced early childhood professional with strong communication skills and supervisory experience to provide leadership, support and guidance to a team of preschool teachers and infant/toddler caregivers.

Establishes and maintains professional relationships with families, and other providers that interface with the program. Ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, and licensing regulations.

Three years experience in management, direct supervision and monitoring required. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Development, Social Services, Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and effective communication skills required. Familiarity with local early intervention and community resources preferred.

Downeast Community Partners (DCP) is pleased to be a partner in an innovative, two-generation educational program for parents and children in Washington County.  Family Futures Downeast offers parents the opportunity to complete a one-year program in Family Studies at either the University of Maine Machias or Washington County Community College. DCP provides a nutritious family meal and high quality early education services and supports for the children (age 0-8) of parents who attend the program two evenings each week.

The early education program supports healthy child development through developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities provided by a staff of trained caregivers, teachers and food service technicians.  Services are geared to the needs of infants, toddlers, preschool and early primary school-age children.

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING:

Food Service Technician, Calais – 8 hours per week; Tuesday and Thursday 3:00-7:00 PM

Assistant Preschool Teacher, Calais - 10 hours per week; Tuesday and Thursday          4:00-9:00 PM

Infant/Toddler Caregiver for the Ellsworth Early Care & Education Program, located at 18 Avery Lane Ellsworth.

This is a full-time year round position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with parents and their young children that will enhance the bond between parent and child. Also responsible to plan and implement, in partnership with families, a responsive curriculum and classroom environment that promotes optimal growth and development of infants and toddlers in a full-day, full-year program. 

Education and Experience:  At a minimum, an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) or comparable credential.  Must have experience working with infants/toddlers in a classroom environment and strong organization and communication skills.

Location: Hancock and Washington counties

We are seeking part-time drivers for Hancock and Washington counties. We provide transportation to low-income, elderly, as well as the general public. Our vehicles are easy to operate and require no special license, just a good driving record and a desire to provide safe and pleasant transportation to the people we serve. Flexible schedules available.

Candidate must have clean driving record, pass criminal and child protective background checks, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

Location: Hancock County

Downeast Community Partners is hiring a part-time (20 hrs. /wk.) RN for our Nurse Home Visiting Program in Hancock County with the potential of also working in Washington County. 

Responsibilities include: Direct work with mothers experiencing a high-risk, medically complicated pregnancy and infants born with medical complications, along with well-child assessment and outreach throughout our coverage area.  Successful applicant will plan, develop, and coordinate client care with hospitals, medical providers, and social service agencies to ensure necessary services are delivered; offer support and encouragement, identify potential issues, educate families on safety and risks, and contact appropriate resources and agencies in order to respond to family and client needs. 

Varied work hours are occasionally necessary, including weekends and evenings when a client crisis requires intervention. Travel outside Hancock and Washington Counties is sometimes necessary. 

Required skills include:

Prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric experience.

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and have excellent time       management skills. 

 A strong desire to help families, meet them where they are at, and assist in barrier removal

 Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

 

Education required:

Active RN license required (BSN preferred)

Community Health, and Nurse Bridging experience is a plus.

Location: Blue Hill

Friendship Cottage is an Adult Day Program in Blue Hill, Maine. DCP is seeking to enlarge their Per Diem pool for CNA/CRMA.

The CNA/CRMA is responsible for the direct care of consumers receiving services. The position will be responsible for participating in the provision of a safe and secure environment and personal care assistance.

Qualifications: Applicants for CNA/CRMA must be currently licensed. Prior nursing/assisted living facility experience preferred. Must be able to work Saturdays on occasion, willing to transport consumers, have clean driving record, reliable transportation, and pass criminal background check.

DCP is hiring for the part-time (20 hours/wk) position of Resource Coordinator.  This position is a combination of social work and administrative work.  The successful candidate will work with individuals and families who are economically vulnerable, providing assistance and support in managing the challenges they are experiencing.  Duties include phone and in-person contact with those seeking help, making connections with resources in the community, filling out and organizing paperwork both hard copies and on the computer, assistance with data tracking and program reports.  Works closely with other staff. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field; LSW preferred
  • An understanding of and positive regard for individuals and families living in poverty
  • Demonstrated ability to assist other persons in identifying and addressing issues and needs
  • Experience and/or demonstrated ability to function well in a helping relationship with other persons, and to maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals
  • Crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as work closely with other staff
  • Computer and organizational skills
  • Two years’ experience assisting families and individuals living in poverty
  • Thorough knowledge of theory and practice of casework
